Arctic White Hardtop- '98 Formula M6
All aluminum block = raspy exhaust tone?
Is the LS1 doomed to sound weak with any exhaust system, no matter what?

The engine block has nothing to do with the exhaust note.
It is all in the systems design.

The reason the LSx sounds different from your typical small block is the firing order.
It is different from your typical SBC.2008 Trailblazer SS

Whoever thought an engine block determined exhaust sound, needs a little introduction to internal combustion engines and their supporting systems IMO.

like nhraFormula said, different metals produce different tones, and i agree. im not saying an aluminum block is the main reason for a raspy exhaust tone, but it dosent help either.

I can post up a shot open headers from when I had the aluminum block and open with the iron.
Give me a little time.
They sound similiar. LSx firing order is the culprit.
