aftermarket head unit & steering wheel controls?

I've been kicking around replacing the stock head unit in my 99 TA. Are there any aftermarked head units that work with the built in steering wheel controls and support mp3's from a DVD(preferrably) or CD?
    Thanks!

Alpine has some head units that have an adapter so you can use the steering wheel controls

Most units won't but if you use a company like Crutchfield and let them know that can include an adapter.

There are a couple threads like this in the stereo section and yes you can use your factory controls on aftermarket head units but they must be equipped with a remote so a module can be installed that uses the steering wheel controls.

Everyone normally say that they don't work as well as they claim. That is the drawback that I'm stuck on. I dont want to take the chance of my controls not working.

yeah mine still work and i have a pioneer HU.

you would just need to get this.. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-YWlFvAR...8900&I=127SWIX not sure if thats the correct model but its along those lines.

and yeah the HU has to have a remote in order for the controls to work with the interface
