    Question 99 Trans Am Exhaust

Hey all. I just got a 99 trans am with 10k orig miles on it. 1st thing i'm lookin to change is the exhaust. What's a good sounding bolt on cat-back system? I've narrowed my choices down to Magnaflow and Flowmaster...a buddy of mine has the SLP LM on his 4.6 mustang and it sounds like trash to be honest, lol.

I'm lookin for a real deep sound without being obnoxiously loud.

    Ideas??

Those are good. I have and really like the Borla Catback with interchangable plates. I got it from ThunderRacing.com

Well if $ isnt an issue, i would recomend GMMG. If your planning on adding headers, even better. Go to this site www.ls1sounds.com

Though it is mentioned below that flowmasters suck I would beg to differ. I have heard that it causes maybe a loss of a horse or 2. But the sound definately makes up for it, I think the baffled sound from a flowmaster sounds awesome. Its pretty loud going down the road also but not to bad... people know your coming, but its not a rattling sound. I would recomend flowmaster. imo

I have Flowmaster and like 1 badblack transam 01 said it sounds awesome. Nothing sounds better than a trans am with a 80 series flowmaster muffler or catback. A real muscle car sound.

Except for one with a Magnaflow muffler on it.

If those are your only two choices, definitely the magnaflow. Flowmaster is a poormans muffler. Put a cherry bomb on why doncha. No offense to the guys with flowmaster.

yeaaa, the more and more i do my research and hear soundclips (LUOS ur's sound sicckk) the more i like the magna flow. I just think having a straight through design like the magna's are the way to go, esp on an application like mine where its not true duals..thanks all

aside from K&N obviously, what u guys doin for induction? I dont wanna go forced unduction cause this car is my daily driver...whats a good cool air intake thats under say...300bux?

Smooth baffle, airbox lid. Smooth baffle can be made outta Fernco plumbing from Home Depot for $5.

Thanks for the compliment on my exhaust. That clip was open headers though...WAY too loud for normal use. I hope to have a newer clip up soon of the true duals and 402ci.
