    From a 94 GT to an 02 WS6

I traded in my beautiful green 94 GT on an 02 Convertible WS6. Was kind of hard to let the old bird go, but it had 118K miles on it, and it just felt like time for something newer.

I am still adjusting to the differences, and the improvement in the brakes is huge, but I honestly think my old car handled better. The 02 feels vague in comparison. I just don't get the tacticle feedback in the steering that I was used to and the steering seems slightly less precise. But then again, I am still not really used to the new car, and may just need some time to adjust. On the up side, I don't get all the bumps like I used to, as the suspension seems much more compliant.

I sure won't miss replacing the Opti-distributor. They made some nice improvements on this car since 94. I also won't miss the joke for a fuel gauge that would stay on full for 110 miles, and would be at half a tank at 150, and then at E about 40 miles later. Oh, and did I mention the brakes were a joke? You could push the pedal to the floor at 70mph and hold it. It didn't need ABS cause the brakes didn't have enough power to overcome the traction from the tires.

I would be interested in hearing from other owners that have traded up and what they think about the differences in ride and handling.

Here is the old Green 94 <sniff sniff>

And here is the new 02

I went from my 93 formula up to my 98 TA not much difference in handling, but I love the power, six speed, and T tops of the 98. I dont regret trading up at all.

Nice trade. The '02 is a big jump up from a 94, much nicer car overall.

i thought my 96 Z28 with 3.73's and exhaust was fast. My bone stock 2000 Firehawk would rape it all day long. Especially on the highway. No regrets here. One little thing...I was just becoming an LT1 master and now I have to start over learning the LS1. Boo hoo.

I wonder, are there any under hood supports I can add or anything else I can do to the car to stiffen up the frame?

Strut tower bar and sub frame connectors. That should stiffen it up nicely.
