79 Hood bird on a 4th gen T/A
Has any one done it or seen a 4th Gen T/A with a old style bird on the hood? I really miss the bird and was considering doing something like the old bird on the hood of my 98 T/A. Pictures would be great if you have them.

I saw a local car that had one. It was a white bird on a black car. I wasn't that impressed with the look. I had a 79 T/A and loved the bird on the hood of that car but for some reason it didn't look right on the 4th gen I saw. Maybe if you put a shaker scoop on it too?? I'd actually thought about doing that too. I saw a picture of a 4th gen with the old style shaker and it looked awesome.

I'd love to see a picture of it if you ever see it again.

My life is a- Ben Stiller movie.
it depends on your hood and the color combo. A gold bird on a black hood would look great and if you did up your emblems/letter in gold it would really tie it all together for a great retro look. But if it's a ws.6 it won't work at all. I've seen pix of them and it's pretty rad.

one of my buds had a pewter one with a black and orgish red bird on the hood... it wasnt an exactly old school replica but was really close... it was ok... i dont think i would do it on a ws6 hood (thats what his was on), but normal hoods are so dame boring... maybe on a raptor/hawk hood...
i so wish i had pics of this car... this question gets ask all the time and i was actually one of the better ones ive seen (didnt really like the colors, but the bird was ok...)

Yea mine is a plain jane T/A and not the WS-6. I'm restoring a 81 T/A right now. When I order the bird kit I think I'll lay the hood bird on my 98 and get a feel for how it would work. I'll take pics when I do it.

I have an 01 pewter T/A and have the 79 bird on my hood and the sail panel birds as well. The bird is the exact bird, is actually for the 79 it is Dark charcoal fade to light charcoal to silver. Looks great I think. I can try to send or post some pics, don't have any at the moment. You have to measure out carefully and the bottom of the tail which is a seperate piece wont fit, those hoods where huge. Also the flames don't start right on the bird but sort of trail off at a slight angle or they will be to long and cutting the tips wouldn't do in my opinion. I'll have to get pics to show you exactly what I mean but it does look good, although I am sure the color combo's will have everything to do with wether it works or not.

wow! that gold/black formula looks great! It's a little wide, i'd like it to end like 6" inside of the hood if it were mine.
I'll tell ya what, it looks half decent on the ws.6 and hawk hood too.
