500 RWHP Help
I'm the new geek and hoping to find out how to build a 500 rwhp 02ws6. I plan on using a D1SC and a complete exhaust overhaul. The suspension and brakes are getting a major mod as well. I would like to know everything it would take to have a daily driver that has an smooth idle and capable of 500hp. Any suggestions please feel free to shoot me a line. Advice, personal experience or ideas are welcomed. Thank you for your time and replies.

to begin with, that stock bottom end wont hold that power, nor will the trans or the rear end.
best bet would be to get a 402 motor and work from there.
how much money you want to spend?2000 nhra edition formula
a few bolt ons, 379 rwhp

I've seen and read about these bottom ends holding this kind of power as long as the tune is good. You really just need to learn how to shift, (m6 if thats what you have) so keep it off the rev limiter and it will last a while. Allthough there are a lot of variables that come into play with this kind of power on tap.

Not a big fan of the STS set-up. Simply not the right place for a turbo. Too much can go wrong in my opinion.
Rearend won't hold 500 RWHP.
Tranny won't hold 500 RWHP.
Motor will if tuned well.
Bolt-ons and a blower running 7-8 PSI should be around 475-500 RWHP.
A good smaller blower cam would insure that power output.

500 rwhp
Thanks for the replies. I have heard and accepted that the rear end, drive shaft and trans will not handle the power and will upgrade. The stock internals I have heard both sides. I wonder what a D1SC would make in HP on a stock block? I want to keep the Ls1 block, but I only want to do this once, the right way. Money? Lets say the budget is a little big at the moment and I want to know all the facts about this project before I go mod crazy. Is there a book for forced induction on LS1 that you guys would reccommend. I do appreciate the time you guys have taken to help me out. I live in Texas but Baghdad is home for now.
Lets see:
1 a complete exhaust upgrade
2 MSD coil pack
3 Procharger D1SC
4 complete suspension upgrade( $hit this is gonna be really expensive)
5 brake modificatios
6 beefier drive shaft
7 upgraded M6
Are a head and cam package neccessary? What about the final verdict on the stock internals? I value all your comments, advice and suggestions. Once again thank you for your help.

My stock clutch was dead before I even pulled the motor.
