    383 LS1 Stroker?

Any one know of a place that sells a 383 LS1 crate engine? Looking to go bigger cubes for about 7500$ I want an all forged bottom end and the pistons and exhaust ports with that heat resistant coating, to keep the engine cooler?

yea just hit texas speed for a 408/402 assembled block and they will give you options on brands for pistons rods crank and even the black itself. the starting price is 3475 before shipping.

Thanks for the quick response, haven't had the time to read other threads about the subject. Now the only question is will those other options bolt right in and still use the same accessories like alt. brackets, headers and the rest? What all is needed for a swap like this? If there is a thread with the info already, please just point me in that direction. Thanks guys!

The money and time u spend building a 383, you could easily for a couple hundred dollars more build a 402/408 and benefit more from the extra cubes.

i think someone said the only big differences on a 402/408 are the mounts and alternator brackets.but everything else from the ls1 is interchangeable

    Mounts are interchangeable as well.
Alternator will mount just fine, you just have to tap a hole in the block since the trucks didn't mount the alternator in the same spot ours is.

You use stock motor mounts and stock alternator location/brackets with the truck blocks.

Thanks! This is what I was looking for, small but very important "OHH SHIT!" details.
