I also think they should both come back but hey AT LEAST they are rethinking their horrible desicions... now IF they do bring it back, God help it that its not something similar to anything currently being "brought back" or those box designs plz, i like the concept on my 2nd post from the doors back, it resembles our 4th gens without overdoing it, but the rest needs a lot of work

if pontiac oes bring the firebird bak they wouldnt be able to cll any of them trans ams b/c they sold the name to the national collectors car association, which imo was stupid.

Until Pontiac decides to think this through and make a car worthy of having the firbird name I would just rather them leave it alone. Look what Dodge did to the Charger.

Agreed, they need to make a fire breathing monster that can put Mustangs in it place like all the other T/A before it.

Our T\as can still put nearly every mustang in its place, the other day on horsepower tv they dyno tested a new 07 GT and it only had 260hp! I laughed and thought to myself "thats pathetic".

But did they really sell the name Trans Am to that association? If they cant even use such a legendary name then screw it. I saw somewhere else that they are bringing back the 'cuda and everyone knows they've had the challenger in the works for a while. But why are they bringing back all the classic muscle and not ours! GTOs and T\as are some of the more famous names besides corvette and camaro etc.

Car companies are making some of the WORST cars ive EVER imagined. Going to car shows used to be exciting but in the last 2 years the most "excitement" was the bad ass custom cars like lambos and corvettes that do burnouts in places like times square and stuff. But then i remember seeing the Dodge area and that avenger sitting on a platform and just wanting to vomit, it was soooo ugly and inside was even worse. I think the old executives have finally gone senile or handling all that money finally absorbed the cocaine traces on it into their blood stream...

O yeah my WS6 has yet to be beat by a Mustang. my friend has a 05 GT and he was talking so much Sh** before the race. he now wonders why he spent nearly 30 grand on a car that is not as good looking as, is slower than, and more expensive than my T/A. aaa the Ford boys just don't get it. you race an F-body's you go home crying.

But getting back to the original post. I also am getting sick of everyone doing the nostalgia thing. It was great the first time doesn’t try and copy it just because you can't think of a new original car. I mean if I want a 69 Camaro ill get one. think of something new and exciting. Something we have not seen before.

Incorrect
The Trans Am name is owned by the SCCA and has always been.
Pontiac paid the SCCA 5 dollars for every Trans Am Built from 1969-2002
GM never owned the name they just leased it.

Isnt' "Firebird" owned by the car builder in Canada now? Something about since the cars were cut off before the contract said to shut them off, the builder kept the name?

im nervous about them bringing the ta/firebird back. i didnt like the gto design, im not to thrilled with the camaro *hoping it will grow on me* and i dont want to not love a generation of the firebird.

I think that concept idea looks awesome! Only bad thing I see about the return of the Firebird is that it would make my '02 less special.. And of course.. it would hurt the feelings of some of those nissan guys lol... but that is a good thing.
