2001 trans am build
hi i am new to this forum and couldnt really find what i was looking for so sorry if this has already been covered.
i am looking to modify my stock trans am and want to know what in your oppinions would give me the most bang for the buck i am currently running 13.50's with a horrible 60' any help would be much appreceiated. i'd like to hit 12's maybe 11's and still drive it everyday.

Is it an auto? If so put a stall and tranny cooler in it. Do a search for bolt ons and free mods and that'll get you started on the cheap stuff. 11's are gonna require a cam or spray. 12's will be a pretty easy accomplishment. Drag radials will help your 60 ft times tremendously.

i have a person that can do my computer work and give me 30-50 hp
my car is a 6 speed. does a cam help that much?and is there a air box that will help my car is not a ram air? i am lookin at spending about 3500$ on up grades what do i do first?

i just talked to someone who can give me a computer out of a 2004 gto would i see any gains from swapping computers?

1) Headers, Y-pipe, & Cat-back; $800-1500+
2) Cam, push-rods, & accessories: $400-1200+
3) Sub-Frame Connectors: $150-300+ (Some people like to say this is the first mod.)
4) Aftermarket Lid: $50-120 (Again, some say 1st mod.)
5) Head exchange: $1200-2500
You can find these products as 'used' from all the f-body forums in order to save some dollars.
Stay away from the GTO computer. I really don't think that will work.
And if you mean by 'computer work', that you can get a real 'tune', then by all means, Yes. It will most likely be required after the cam exchange.

thanks much for the help i think i have a good idea of where to start now and what kind of money i can expect to spend. one more question i have heard that the stock internals of the ls1 are forged is that true?
