black- 1994 Miata
2000 LS1 firebird mods
anybody have exact combination of mods to improve 2000 ls1? Sorry to say but i am putting it in a 1994 Miata with a t-56 and 8.8 ford rear end. I want to know a good combination of minor mods to get the most out of it. I have already ordered a Z06 cam (ls6 i beleive) and was thinking a ls6 intake. Any serious advice would be appreciated.

depends how much money you want to spend.. you could pnp the heads, or get new ones, LS6 intake is popular, you already got a cam and that's the biggest thing that will determine how much power you put out, the Z06 cam is pretty mild compared to other aftermarket options. with the H/C/I you would be looking at ~400-450fwhp
wont take much to make that Miata a screamer

your also going to have issues with headers. Lt's are most likely out, mid tubes might fit, but most likely you'll need a custom fab to get it to work. Stacy David from Gearz has a lot of info for this type of build for both ford and gm power plants.
Like Justin said the Z06 cam is better then stock but not as good as the after market. The LS6 intake is real good. Gives about 30% more volume over the LS1 intake. The best intake is a FAST 90, even better is the 102. But they cost some serious $$$ that could be thrown at in different areas.
8.8 is a good rear, but hard to fab up for f-bodies. You'll either need to custom fab a TA or do a 4 link type setup for the rear. Spaz has just put in a 8.8. PM him and he'll hook you up on info for that.
For the Tranny I'd recommend sending it to Tick Performance and have them do a Viper build. It will handle anything you throw at it.
Is this going to be for auto X or just a fun ass build for the hell of it?

LS1 in a Miata? It is going to be a complete beast right out of the box in a car that weighs around 2,400 lbs.

cancel the Z06 cam and get a 224/224 581 114 lsa cam. Upgrade the valvetrain with beehive springs, hardened rods and ti retainers. LS1 intake or if you want the very best, get the FAST intake. You will also need custom headers.

Navy Blue Metallic- 2000 Trans am ws6
is it a auto? if so a stall converter really helps. i have a 2000 ws6 and installed a 3600 stall with 3:73 gears. this upgrade really woke up the beast. ls6 intake is a must as well
