1994 Pontiac Firebird?
Someone in town is selling a 94 bird for 3500. It is a 6 speed, V8 and in pretty good condition but needs a little work(Need to look more into it). Now my main question is, is this as fast as later models stock or would things need to be modded to be as fast as layer models, 00, 02 TA, and etc. Thanks.

A 94 Formula Firebird is equipped with the LT1 engine thats rated at 275 HP. To answer your question, no it's not as fast as a stock LS1 car. The LT1 is a great engine and responds well to mods and can make alot of power with the right parts. $3500 sounds like a decent price as long as the car is not trashed. The biggest draw back of an LT1 is the Optispark. It tends to go bad often. I replaced 3 on my 94 Camaro when I had it. There are many aftermarket companies now that are producing there own Opti so I'm sure this wouldnt be a big issue.

Alright thanks. So would it be a good idea to buy this cheap then mod it? Are we talking that much money to get this faster than a LS1 stock and modded?
Also the car has 125,XXX+ miles, some clear coat in the rear needs but other than that it is good. So would it be a good idea to buy this or keep saving for a LS1?

I got him to lower the price from $3,400 to $2,500. Everything looks and sound sounds good. Just needs body work, paint, etc. One question, its a formula, so what is the code to make completely sure it is?

Well I ended up buying it. Runs great, Ill post pics soon. It doesnt have any mods so what would be the best thing to buy first to mod it? Also a website.

Paint not too much. But I was wondering, should I pay for the paint to be fixed up or should I buy mods first. Does 800 for a instake kit and exhaust sound like to much?
Do I need all three of these or just the first one:

I think I am going to get the intake and exhaust first. Then go from there. Sound good?
