If you drive like a normal person they would probably last the life of the car. Any spirited driving and it starts to shorten the life. Drive it like you stole it, you are balancing a thin line.

The 1st time I.chewed a few teeth off was doing a 60 to 120 pull on the highway with.just bolt ons and a tune. 339rwhp nothing huge. Now it has been a few thousand since the rebuild with 3.73's and I have a ms3 cam and just a few weekend cruises driving.it a little hard and.it.is screaming for.mercy. 9" going in this fall fixing the.10 bolt will just end up making you fix it again time depends on mods and how.you.drive. track runs will definatly shorten the.life of not breaking it and the tow home will suck.that's why I have refused to.go.to the track till I have a stronger axle after breaking is on a weak highway pull.

My buddy has a 98 z28 with 180 000miles track every weekend for 3 years and it still is going strong Everything on the car is stock tho My 99 TA had 110 000miles with track time twice a year and driving it hard every time out Never had an iussue but it depends on the car for some reason!!!!!

I'd never push it that far. The last 10 bolt I tore up went in spectacular fassion. Shoving the driveshaft forward and busting the case on the T-56 in the process. Which then sprayed oil on the track (and all over the back tires) so I fishtailed and almost smacked the wall, nearly had to change my shorts. This all happened at about 80 mph while powershifting into 3rd gear. It wound up being a very expensive repair needing a new transmission and all.

I sure don't want to be in that situation!!!! I sure hope my a4 will not let go on me or my 10 bolt It seems like the m6 are more prone to breaking the 10 bolt than the a4's Just from what I'm reading, I am no specialist by any means

A4's tend to be much easier on the 10 bolt than M6's are due to the shock it experiences during gear changes.

I intend to upgrade when the next gearset (maybe before) decides to take a powder...

too many horror stories to risk it. Ill just stick with bolt ons and invest in a 12bolt before my h/c swap. Cant risk breaking my daily driver cant make money with out it.
