06 gto vs. 00 T/a ws6

This is a discussion on 06 gto vs. 00 T/a ws6 within the Firebird / WS6 forums, part of the Vehicle Specific category; an 04? I disagree on that one. An f-body should have little problems with an 04....

I have an 04 GTO and had an 02 WS6. I can say certainly that I haven't had any problems with the Fbodies on the road. I drive it hard. The WS6 did not have as much pull.

I guess in certain situations nothing is ever a given but I would be beyond amazed if my 04 ever pulled an LS1 f-body. I think from a roll I could keep it respectable but from a dig I know my 98 formula was a good .5-.6 faster in the quarter stock for stock. I am by no means calling you a liar. I'm just saying that my 04 would never run with my f-body when they were both stock.

I'm not a fan of the LS1 GTO's and i think a slightly lighter F body should pull ahead. The LS2 GTO smokes the f bodies....

ok.. heres the deal.. my pops had the 04 gto and now has an 06.. i clearly dont have a shot at the 06 unless he falls asleep at the line.. the 04 gto was nice dont get me wrong but at the track people with 05 gto's were pullin worse times then my dad was in his 04. the quickest time he had was a 13.9. i know for a fact that my ws6 can beat that time and beat any stock 04 gto.

Yeah I can beat a 13.9 with my FULLY stock T/A... and I've only gone like 4 times.. so I'm learning..and starting to mod...

fuel cut off is 163mph.. cars could pull a little more most likely but you need a little more space too.

I've raced multiple 04 gto's and 3 ls2 gto's in my 00' firehawk 6spd stock. At the track they lose on the street they lose. the 05's and 06's are very close from rolls but at the track and possibly the bad drivers they have hard times launching them. The ls1 cars are more L-t1 fbody similar times. if you factor out the drivers on the races were i could clearly tell they were at fault i still slightly pull on the ls2 cars. Trap speeds indicate alot and my races at the track they were trapping 106 to 107 and i was at 109 to 110 being my best. These are my expirences and i agree all cars run differently on the same production run. Love the ls2 and all Ls motors and cars! I'm not sure what the 06's weight but my car weighed 3350 on a scale. Thought the fbodys weighed less.

All the '05 and '06 GTO's that i seen at Muncie Drag last week were running pretty much low 14's. You never know though it could've been the drivers. My WS6 beat the GTO.

I'm wondering the same thing about my '00 WS6 versus my Boss's '06 Charger SRT 8.

The SRT 8 is a much bigger heavier car and has 425 hp. The published times are close. Which one would come out ahead? I have a 6 spd, K&N and 3" exhaust. All SRT8s are automatics.....?

Your WS6 should beat a 06 Charger. All Chargers are autos but i think the 'super bee charger' might be a manual.another member can correct me.

Just don't beat him too bad, he is your boss.

I think you just happened to be the better driver cuz you definitely dont have over 400hp and the goat and cts v would cuz they start out with 400 + hp from mods. The GTO and the cts v are heavier than an f body tho...

THE RESULTS ARE IN.... 06 GTO weight- 4000 00 T/A ws6 weight 3650 both with drivers. RACE ONE- my first time racing at the strip. loved it by the way. GTO- 14.5 with a perfect launch and powershifting all races. 100.25
    T/A - 14.1 with a bad r/t due to my 1st time. 101.97
RACE TWO- GTO 14.7 wish good r/t but had tcs on, bad 60ft. 102.12
    T/A - 13.7 had about 10 cars on him. great vid. 103.18
RACE THREE- this is when my pops took out the plastic hood scoops to try to get more airflow in the GTO- 13.901 @104.28
    T/A - 13.817 @103.26
with this i prove something i didnt think myself was to possible.
