    '02 Firebird headlight issues

    Hi,
I have a problem on a 2002 Firebird, One of the headlight motor gears got stripped (known common problem) and I replaced it with a brass gear in both headlights about a year ago.

Now everything was fine until 2 weeks ago, the headlights would now flip up then close down when I press the unlock or the lock button on the remote. It didn't do that before.

Now the passgener side headlight motor continues to run after it closes for about a few seconds after the cycle it does with the remote then it stops.

What could be wrong with it and what is causing the headlights to flip on then off when I press the unlock or lock on the remote if it didn't do that before?

Battery is still good, starts up fine.

Have tried resetting the electrical system with no help.

try holding down the remote button for 20+ extra seconds -- there are a few different modes for the remotes and it might have toggled to one that flashes the lights. I would also check your system grounds and possible run a few extra ones.

I had the typical gear bs awhile back myself. New gear didn't fix it. New headlight motor did.
