2001 came with the standard GM airlid, & the same standard V8 as all the other Formula's & Trans Am's.

2002's came with the better lid. (No baffles) Good for about 5-10 hp.

but the firehawk just has the normal ls1 intake on it... alright i was just debating cause i was thinking about getting a ws6 or firehawk and wanted to weigh my options

hmmm see i found a sick firehawk with low miles on it and its white also, but doesnt have slp lid which is fine, but did you buy it with the ls6 intake already on it?

All `01-04 LS1's regardless what car they were installed in have the upgraded (LS6) intake. The original LS1 intake was discontinued after the 2000 model year.

no more egr on the intake either, thats how you know it is a ls6

`97-00 Corvettes did not have EGR so there are non EGR LS1 intakes

All `01-04 LS1's regardless what car they were installed in have the upgraded (LS6) intake. The original LS1 intake was discontinued after the 2000 model year.

yeah, i had wondered about the airlid my self on the firehawks. I was watching a vid on youtube, it was tellin about the 98 firehawk I think, but anyways I noticed it had the regular GM airlid. I always assumed the later 4th gen firehawks came with the SLP lid. I'm always learnin someting new, lol. And it realy never occured to me that an '01-02 firehawk may still have the LS1 intake whiles the WS6 has the LS6. What about the 01-02 base T/A's? I can't remember, they also got the LS6 intake right? I do know that my '01 WS6 has the LS6 intake though

Every LS1 2001 and newer. And obviously every LS6 engine. Cars like F-bodies, Corvettes, CTS-Vs, GTOs, etc. I think 2005 was the last year of the LS6
