    Z28? Ss?

Hey I've never been much of a camaro fan (yes yes lynch me) I've always leaned more towards the T/A. I just have a question though. What's the difference between a z28 and a SS? I was checking auto-trader for them just out of curiosity cause I'm trying to get myself into an LS1 or LS2 (which is SO much more expensive) and they don't ACTUALLY look that bad. I don't think I've seen many z28s around... I just hate the stock hood for the camaro. Other than that I find they are just fine. Anyways... what's the difference? thanks in advance =)

The most important differences are the typically more desired spoiler & hood with the SS. Also, you can get a build # with an SS which is important to some people, but as far as performance, the Z28 & SS are essentially the same.

yeah I noticed in the "Show your camaro" thread that the SS seemed to have a MUCH nicer hood... I seem to have something against a flat smooth hood lol. Thanks for the info

It (the SS) also has a little better suspension. It also comes with exhaust option(on some models).

The SS comes with 17' wheels. The Z-28 only comes with 16" wheels.

    2002 Camaro SS

The difference between these two is not much. An SS starts off as a Z-28 Then it gets the SS looks which are the Hood, Spoiler, 17" wheels Better Handeling Suspension Then it gets sent to SLP to get the Upgraded options which are the SLP Lid and Better exhaust. A SS with all this options have the max Horspower of 345HP. The engine on the 2001-2002 Camaros is rated at 325HP This is the code for the options that come with an SS WU8 - "SS" PERFORMANCE/APPEARANCE PKG INCLUDES: *325 HORSEPOWER *FORCED AIR INDUCTION HOOD *17" ALUMINUM WHEELS *SS SPECIFIC REAR SPOILER *HI PERF. RIDE & HANDLING SUSP. *LOW RESTRICTION DUAL OUTLET EXHAUST SYSTEM *SS BADGING
Y2Y - SALES PACKAGE CAMARO SS DUAL Z28 - CAMARO Z28. Get an SS and take away all this options and you will end up with a Z-28.Keep in mind though the Z-28 and The SS are both pretty fast and are in the 13's zone You'll be happy with either of this cars
