my LS1 is a 98 A4 with 100000 miles on it. Its Completely stock and runs decently. But i have the option of trading it in for a 1996 LT1 camaro M6. would the fact that its an M6 make it hang with a 98A4. (theoretically if i was a master shifter)lol

i wouldnt trade it in..my buddy has like 110k on his car and its cammed with a powerful exhaust and it sounds like a beast and still runs strong!!

of course he made all of the upgrade related maintenance like pushrods and such

Unless the LT1 is modded in won't hang with an LS1 stock for stock. I've had both. Best stock time for the LT1 was 14.20; for the LS1 was 13.45. Both were A4 cars; the LT1 with 3.23's and the LS1 with 2.73's.

IDK about that there are some stock M6 LT1s that can make around mid 13s, still slower then the LS1 but still near by.
I have an M6 LT1 stock cept for true duels from the headers out and I raced a stock A4 LS1. It was a pretty close race

Keep the LS1!
