its not too bad if you have the right tools. you have to be able to remove/drill out and replace rivits, hold regulator in place when you remove moter or you will unload spring.
remove speaker for more room/get both arms in door.
bend tab at end of window slide to remove regulator.
i have seen people use bolts/nuts to re-install, have also seen what it does when they come loose.

Not a bad job to do yourself, and I have only basic tools skillz. Save hundreds of $$$ by doing this yourself.

18D Cock Diesel- 1999 Z28; 98 SS #2043 RIP
i just did mine yesterday. It was a real pain in the ass if you are not mechanically inclined. But its not too bad if you have basic skills and have been wrenching. One pointer is that be careful when reinstalling your door panel so you dont bend the plastic extensions on the base (bottom) of the panel. the basics of it has been outlined here in the thread already.

i work at the GMC dealership and some master tech.s told me to replace the entire regulator and motor. They also warned me that the round spring inside the door will almost cut your arm if it isnt held properly. ...SO EVERYONE BE CAREFUL. .... They also said that i should only used GM stuff cuv i get a discount. Im still going with the autozone ones and im only going with just the motor. ill let yall know how it turns out this weekend.

Black- BLK TA modded 12.2@113mph
I just did mine last week or the week before and if you follow the instruction posted above you will do fine. Follow the pictures for drilling and it's dead on. I did not need to drill twice. A mirror on a stick is a must. A magnet on an extension will help you to put the srews in the freaking little hole and you will scratch your hands. Wera gloves to drill the fiber glass scratches your hands if you don't. Good luck it's a good feeling to do it yourself and save 200 bucks in labor.
