One pointer is that be careful when reinstalling your door panel so you dont bend the plastic extensions on the base (bottom) of the panel. the basics of it has been outlined here in the thread already.
Feel like a road trip to Florida? My driverside is starting to go...its doing the pause, wait 3 minutes and I will finish going up deal. I would say I would pay for your gas, but I dont have that much money!

my motors are dying, I would replace the rivets w/ bolts because you'll be back in there sooner than you think-sigh.

They also said that i should only used GM stuff cuv i get a discount. Im still going with the autozone ones and im only going with just the motor. ill let yall know how it turns out this weekend.
did my drive side last night. Getting the motor to line up with the holes, was the hardest part. most of took me like 30min. to get them to lined up right. btw i was in a dark carport with a flash light. some things that helped me.

    1. Drill a 4th whole- i couldnt get my nipple on the motor gear to go into the brace whole.i couldnt get it in there b/c i couldnt see it. So.. i drilled another hole so that i could see the nipple and quide it into the hole in the brace.

    2. Used nails to line my holes up. I was haveing trouble getting the 3 holes( rivet holes) to line. So... once i got one lined up i would stick something(nail ) into the hole to keep them lined up while i got the other ones lined up.

    3. grease up the 2 horizonal guide rails and the vert. rails. Also grease up the teeth on drive wheel

remove speaker for more room/get both arms in door.
bend tab at end of window slide to remove regulator.
i have seen people use bolts/nuts to re-install, have also seen what it does when they come loose.
    pretty much what he said...

lower the window 1/2 way down and you will have to drill out the factory rivets. you will need another person to hold the window as well, and yes, the SOB is heavy. once you do one side, the other side will go quicker. i too, used short bolts/locking washers and nuts when putting the new motor in. never had an issue with them coming loose.

don't worry, you'll cuss, draw blood and kick your car, but atleast your windows will go up and down as desired...

Just did mine. I thought I was going to be all "factory" and put it back with 1/4" rivets. Took me a while to even find 1/4" rivets. Had to go to a specialty fastener place. Only to find out later that my Heavy Duty Craftsman rivet gun did not have the ability to do 1/4" rivets. Didn't come with, nor can I find the correct Tip.
So plan B was a trip to the hardware store for four 1/4-20 x 5/8" Long round slotted head "stove bolts" (Pretty sure Hex bolts usually only can be found in 1/2" and 3/4" lengths) four flat washers for under the head, and four nylon lock nuts.
Began the job with my window all the way up, so I was able to get 3 of the 4 bolts in and snug without much trouble. I had to lower the window to get the fourth nut on from the back.
Of course I never unhooked my battery, so I was able to power up the motor prior to finishing the job. I did take my Courtesy fuse out so as not to kill my battery with the dome light on for several hours.
All in all not TOO bad of a job. Wouldn't want to do it again anytime soon.
At least not until all my cuts heal ....
Good thing was that I got to put in my new Infinity speaker(s) at the same time.

the rivets are monsters , in the doors and on the window frame itself, they need to be cut, or drilled off to do, and dont go too crazy on the door cause its fiberglass, then youll be making a metal plate to hold the regulator to the door

Man I was dreading the window motor replacement, and then I downloaded the steps how to do it. Followed it to a T and it was painless. Just take your time and follow the steps you'll be fine. Used basic hand tools as well and a mirror. Drilling out the rivits was easy to. I paid $50 from autozone
