will headers hurt the value of a 99 ss

I have a 99 SS m6 only 33k SLP lid/and loudmouth on it.(I have the OME lid and exhaust) I am thinking of headers come spring. Guys I work with say I should keep it stock for better resale ? Also thinking of a ls6 intake.
Should you keep a SS stock ? they still depreciate.

Mod the car and save your stock stuff, if you decide to sell the car, demod it and sell the performance parts and reinstall the tsock stuff.

Also, don't get SLP headers, they are a PITA and give horrible ground clearance, go with Pacesetters

by the way, I think NBM (navy blue metallic) is the best SS color

I agree with JD.You bought the car to drive and enjoy so personalize it your way.Resale value sucks anyway so do it.The ls6 intake will boost hp a few-it's a good swap.As for the headers,I'd go with the hooker headers.Get the coating,it keeps the underhood temps down.

Enjoy it and do with it what you want. Unless it is a like new car resale sucks on them. Normally anyone who buys one if it has mods then that saves someone time and money.

I COULD'NT AGREE MORE W/ BIG D. ANYONE THAT IS FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO OWN ONE OF THESE BEAUTIES WILL END UP SLAPPIN A BUNCH OF MODS ON THEMSELVES. DEFINATELY MAKE IT YOUR OWN, SCREW RESALE.....LIVE IN THE NOW

The resale is gonna suck regardless. I drove my Camaro into the car lot with the nitrous kit still installed and the bottle still mounted on the hump between the back seats. The guy told me they were taking $500 off the Blue Book Value since it had nitrous. Then the salesman put my camaro on hold for himself to buy and gave me the $500 for the nitrous kit.

Headers won't affect the resale value imo. There were thousands of 99 Camaro SS cars made and, let's face it, the Camaro wasn't popular enough to be saved from extinction (sadly). So the car doesn't have an inherently high collector value anyway (vs. a fairly rare 97 SS with the lt4, only 100 of those were made) and it's got more than 40k on the odo already. Just mod it, drive & enjoy. That's my two cents.

I guess the Chargers and Chevelles of old aren't worth anything now? They were discontinued.

If I were buying a 'clasic' car, I would look more at a as close to stock vehicle as possilbe. That is just me!! I would NEVER buy one that had nitrous in it!!
