    Wheel-hop

Today I was doing 20 mph, and when I stomped on the go pedal, the tires started spinning, and when they started hooking up, I got a lot of wheel hop.
I tried it a couple of times, and got wheel hop.

My car has 93,000 miles on it, and the suspension's all original.
Is there a single bolt-on that will eliminate the wheel-hop? LCA's, Torque arm, bushings?
I'm just looking for a simple fix, I don't want to replace everything.

I read in GMHT that torque arms make the most difference for wheel hop. not sure tho. I need one. :/

    Sadly now demodded :(

Adjustable Torque Arm. It made a huge difference in my car.

I had that problem when I first bought my 98 z. I bought traction bars and Competition Engineering Drag Shocks, and doesn't hop at all. On the street, it just spins, but at the track, it hooks hard with a set of slicks. I really can't tell you which helped more because I did them both at the same time. For your asses sake, I'd stay away from the bars unless your roads are smooth as butter. It's a harsh ride. Good luck

They make traction bars for our cars? I put a set of traction bars on my Monte SS. They're like slapper bars, and don't affect the ride.
I don't think I'll be using either one of those. The roads up here in Maine suck. Have you ever seen what frost heaves do to roads? And Drag shocks aren't for the streets.

    Thanks for the info.

They're not like slapper bars. They bolt around the axle and create a triangle to lift and load the rear. At the strip, I tighten them up. When I'm ready to leave I loosen them. As for the shocks, they've been used for 2 years now, and are still performing great. And no, my setup is probably too tight for a daily driver. It's for sticking meat to the track, but it takes care of any rear end issues.

A good set of shocks will eliminate it also. I switch from factory shocks to Bilstein HD's and it totally went away. I had it bad too!

    Thanks.
I'm planning on getting the Bilstein HD's, or the SLP Bilsteins. Maybe in the spring, it's almost time to park the SS's for the winter.

Good luck! They are on international backorder until Feb. 08' and hopefully no longer than that. I still need to get 2 front Bilstein HD's valved for my SLP springs.

if you still got the original shocks, they're done at 93k miles. my front shock was gone at 50k! get bilsteins, i love them. no wheel hop, and very stable at high speeds.

I'm going to get the Bilsteins in the spring.
They seem to be the favorite on LS1.com.
