I would have to take the Daytona Yellow with yellow houndstooth interior 1969 Hemi RS/Z28 that Charlie lillard owns. It has one of the very rare experimental Hemi headed 302 engines that made its way into public hands.

There was also a few 69 ZL1 Camaros built with the RS package and at least one with the JL8 four wheel disk brakes. That would also be at the top of my list.

I believe seven Hemi headed motors were built and only three exist today. Reggie Jackson also ownes a silver 69 Z/28 with the Hemi 302. They had the hemispherical chambersand, centrally located plugs and canted valves along with special camshaft and pistons.

The Z/28 was killing the Mustang guys in SCCA with 10 of 12 wins in 68 and 8of 12 in 69 and winning the manufacturers championship both years. Ford started work on a new engine "the Boss 302" to help them win back some of the glory in SCCA. GM heard of this and started work on the Hemi set up thinking they may have a problem when the Boss hits the track. The Boss made it to the track before the Hemi but the Z/28 was still winning all the races. They decided there was no need for sutch a costly engine when they were allready killing the competition so the Hemi engine was scrapped.

    I'd forgotten that they actually built a camaro with a 2.5L 4 cyl.,what a joke. I hope they've all been destroyed.

I would love to restore a 67-69 and stuff a mild built ls1 with t56(maybe an a4 for comfort around town) with all the options power everything then have it as a DD. You would get way more looks rolling in an old school car every day than a new car. That is one of my dreams I have't truely decided on a camaro or chevelle but one day I will be driven one of them every day.

Just to put it in perspective. I remember seeing a story on tv about a pro athlete(don't remember what sport or who it was) that had a 1st gen camaro with the 572 dropped in it. When he came rollin up in it to practice he said he got more looks from the guys than any other car there. Now these are pro athletes so they were all driving pimped out hummers, lambo's, ferraris, porsche ect. A fist gen old school muscle car stole the show.

I work at olive garden, and we share a parking lot with a Brake/ oil change type place, theres my green 95, but today i saw a beautiful blue 3rd gen Z28, maybe one of the new guys that started today. but the guy that owns the shop drives a black 69 Z28, 3 inch purple cowl, sounds ugly, but actually looks good, sittin on 18" brushed aluminum torque thrusters. looks like 50 series tires on the back

looks like this, with different paint
