    What is it worth??

I was talking to Sarge and he told me to post my question here.

I have an 02 Camaro Z28 m6 60k miles that I think will be totaled by the Ins. company. If it is totaled, I'm wondering if it would be a good idea to buy it back to part out. Most of the car is still good. Couldn't really see what all was messed up underneath but I know these are bad:
    Front bumper
    RF fender
    Air bags
    Windshield
Something broke in the steering. (steering wheel free spins)
Cross member (went over a stump)

Here is a link from when I had the wreck.

    It will be close

I'm just trying to get an idea of what I could part it out for.

This is not the for sale section. Please guys, take this to PM's.

And OP, if you want to sell items, post something up in the for sale section.

Probably part everthing out for 6-7k. Engine/trans/ecu with 60kmiles would go for 4k alone.

When I totaled my vert, I bought it back from insurance for 1800. The motor, trans, interior and lots of odds and ends were good still. I kept what I wanted which was the tranny and tons of odds and ends and sold the rest of the stuff for about $4000 I think. More than doubled my money. If you have a place to tear it down and store stuff and don't mind the hassle of lots of shipping/paypal/online transactions, go for it, you will more than likely be worthwhile to you money wise.

Not trying to sell anything yet. Just trying to get an idea what I could part it out for. When I got ready to make this post Sarge was the only mod online and he said to post my question here.

To the guys who have parted out cars before, how did you go about shipping big bulky item? Like a door panel, hood, or fender. I know UPS has size limits on what they will take. Does the UPS store have boxes big enough for stuff like that?

I think if you wanna put the time into parting it out you could easily make more money than that. I also think if you wanna keep the engine/trans/ecu and put it in a more unique car that would be BADASS

Ever think about selling it whole and requiring pickup only by the buyer? You would not get as much as parting out individual parts but than again you would not have to deal with so many clowns and the numerious trips to ship out the parts. I would think you could still get 4k as a whole if not more and it would be easy money. Just a thought..

    Is that an offer.

Yes, I have thought about that, and I would do it. In fact since I would have so many parts and if I list it on here I have to put a price, if I put it on here I would list it as a whole car.

Sorry Im not interested in it but still believe you can sell it whole and still make out. Ebay it with a reserve of $3000 or so and pickup only, this way you still make some money and if your lucky folks get in a bidding war...???
Make the Reserve higher if you want more just remember it may not sell and that means it may sit for a bit.
