What should it be running, hypertech...

I am looking at this 95 Z28 pretty much stock cept for a K & N intake and filter plus it comes with the hypertech tuner thing. What numbers can I expect from this car and what would it run about in the 1/4 mile. Also its an A4.

Please if somone can tell me about the handheld tuners, I dont know much about them? Are they worth it? What can you get out of them? Is it better then going to a shop and get it tuned? Thanks

Your first question of are they worth it, no unfortunately.

You can adjust shift points, remove your top speed limiter, adjust the speedo if you change gears, and change the temp for the fans to come on.

Its much better to get it tuned at a shop or someone that has HPTuners, LS1edit or etc. Handhelds are very limited in what they can do.

Sounds like a good deal to me, now I need a body or a roller,
but then again the 95 camaro im looking at is pretty cheap regardless. If I can't get an LS1 I would settle for an LT1 build it up wait a little while (im still in high school) and after a while move up for a GTO or the new sexy camaros.

Yea I been looking there, i just don't post there.
Right now I can get this LT1 at a steal, by the end of the year im going to check up a few more auctions before december 31st and see if there is any LS1s. Dealers get desperate around that time, its just that right now people are asking way too much for the LS1s I cant find any good ones at a good price. They are all either overpriced or just in mint condition out of my price range with really low miles.

    Life just isnt fair

Yea I mean I got money but still I am looking for the best deal. If I get this one I am going to have a lot left over to play with that I can go into mods. I was thinking about getting an LE1 or LE2 kit. Maybe a 383, if all else fails I can look into an LS1 or LS2 swap. Like I said I can get this car at a steal, less then half of what it is worth. I am planning to go to a garage this weekend have somone look at it, compression check and everything so how it currently is.

If you don't plan on keeping it very long then I wouldn't mod it too much.

I know its hard to resist modding, but any money you put into the car modding it is money you are pissing away into the wind if you don't plan to keep the car. By no means am I saying don't mod, just realize its money you probably won't get back.
