I have almost the same set up but i have hi-flow cats and not the ory. I hate that it sounds stock. I have a feeling ill end up just buying a new cat-back system and try to sell the magnaflow.

The know flowmaster makes a muffler that would fit with that kit. I think you the hooker muffler mounts the same way as well. may be able to get a dynomax muffler but never heard one on a LS1 before. I just welded in a flowmaster before I got my headers and ORY. Was cheaper I got the muffler and 2 oval tips andhad it all welded in for $160. Didn't wanna put money into a catback till I had the headers and ory since they work different. the flowmaster sounded great till the cats came off them so did the flowmaster. I think magnaflow cat backs sound good on a car without cats and with the dual/dual tips they finally looked good with the TA bumper. I run a SLP PowerFlo setup since I can change the sound. With no cats it sounds good, has 1 LM2 muffler connectine at the ORY and 2 powerflo mufflers one at each tip. I can swap the LM2 out for a stright pipe or LM1 to make it louder if I ever get a catted Y pipe.

    I'd leave the Magnaflow personally.

Blowmaster - Chokemaster - ya know

But I've heard they're not that bad, they just got a bad rap off the 80 series.... duno though as that's the only muffler I've had from that company

I have the american thunders on my 5.0 and it sounds great. the 80 series had a good sound when I had the factory exhaust, didn't check to see how restrictive it was i just wanted the car to sound better for cheap money i know a few people running flowmaster 40's and 44's and they like them. The 80's are said to be restrictive but I would like to see by how much if it's only 3 or 4hp then does it really matter unless your building a true race car.. Also know a few people that like the dynomax bullet mufflers, but a little loud for me.

Cut outs arent for everyone but I added one to my magnaflow exhaust set up, and I like the added noise.

I put the SLP Loudmouth catback on my car. It was too loud, and it popped, and snapped when decellerating. Then I swapped to the Loudmouth II muffler, and I really like the sound. It sounds good at idle, and screams at w.o.t.

If you just want A weld in muffler that sounds great get a flowmaster 80 series but it won't make your car faster

If i were to do it again I would just use the Y-pipe with one spiralflow muffler.

liked my weld in flowmaster 80 series. Unless you cars about a few horses it sounds good if you have cats. Also a loud mouth 2 would be good also could switch to a dbynox bullet, or a cherry bomb if you have a LM1 or 2 setup

+1. I was going to recommend a cutout. It definitely makes the car sound better in most cases, and louder.

Yes you can just replace the muffler. If your looking for sound and not performance I love the sound of a Flowmaster.

I myself run pacesetter longtubes, ory, and a flowmaster 80 series. I put down, cam only, 405rwhp and 390rwtq with this setup. Now the sound isn't that bad either. I'm sure there are better mufflers out there but this one works. IMO!!
