What lid
I’ve been hearing that the SLP lid makes contact with the hood. Is there another lid that will give the same or better performance? Or is the SLP lid worth getting?

A couple of years ago a member of LS1 used a dyno to compare the hp gain from the different lids. His test meet my criteria for a scientific study and I believe I remember that SLP's was not the best, can that thread be reposted? I do remember that the hp gains were all less than 12hp most in the 4-5 range, fit was an issue with some and glamor was more the deciding factor than performance. Being on a dyno I was not positive they gave a real world test (no ram air effect) but I do believe it was an apple to apple test.

mine rubbed with my stock hood but i got a cowl induction hood from jegs and it doesnt anymore, some hit because some cars dont have that protective covering stuff under hood and some of them do.... most people takes it off when they get it...

i got the whole cold-air induction package from summit that comes with the smooth bellow and the forced air flow stuff and the insulation stuff and i really didnt notice much of a difference but it makes me feel better knowing that my car is breathing easier i guess....
does anyone know if taking out the (honeycomb) thing in the stock intake thing will eventually mess up my motor? i know there was a leaf or two on it when we took it out and its a daily driver.....

Jetstream Blue Metallic- 2008 Z06 Corvette
My SLP lid hits but so what, it's only when the hood is closed. Seriously though, I heard that we should leave the screen in the MAF as it does not hinder the airflow on the Camaro, or the Corvette because of the nature of the design. It being a straight shot through it. I remember I yanked mine out right before I dropped my LS6 crate motor in my car, and I was doing all the mods at the same time, well my tuner kinda chewed me out a bit saying that it caused a unnessesary leaning of the fuel/air mixture when people do that, and it's more difficult to tune it out. One man's opinion. Turned out that my original MAF was pretty crapped out with filth anyway, and I wound up replacing it. Something about the voltage being too low, or something, I never pretended to know about that tuning stuff. That's why I paid the man. That's why I smile when my car doesn't die at an idle with that big ass cam, and I laugh to myself at emission time when the tester is shaking his head going "Congratulations sir, you passed".
