What kinda Oil to run?

I got a 99 camaro and had the motor rebuild on it basically back to stock but with better pistons to help eliminate the future problem of piston slap at cold starts. Now the guy that rebuild it says to stay away from synthetic oil. What are some of you running for oil and what do you think of this guys suggestion??

I run either Pennzoil Platinum or Mobil 1 Full Synthetic.

I have had 2 LS1s and 1 LT1 and never had an issue with either of these oils.

Sweet ya i figure those are two good brands..you running 10W30 or just 5W30?

Honestly unless you are in EXTREME cold or EXTREME hot conditions you cant really go wrong with either or. I have used both and no issues what so ever. A lot of cars require an oil with a higher viscosity but you can use either. Some people will argue otherwise.....lol
