    What gives?

So I finally got my car put on the dyno to the tune of 383rwhp 350rwtq. So why is it that my torque #'s are so much lower than the horsepower? The mods I have are in the signature.

What kinda cam do you have an what dyno were you on? Usually when going with a decent size cam upgrade your trq will be lower than your hp. My buddy just made 404whp and 381wtrq.

Most cams will have a bigger increase in hp than tq. If you wanted more torque you should have gotten a torque cam

Our motors like to spin. Torque and HP should cross at 5252RPM's (HP going up, torque dropping off)....but the LSx will spin much past that.

Once cammed, this shows even more because of how well the motor breathes in the upper RPM's.

The specs on my cam are 224/230 575/588 114 LSA 112 Centerline. Also when I put it on the Dynojet the temp outside was 101 degrees and 42% humidity. So how much power would that suck up being that it was so hot?

Depends on the dyno's software and how updated it is....
Some correct for the temp, some don't. At least that is what I was told by the shop owner here.

Running stock heads, those numbers are not to bad.

Also lots of tuners recommend that you leave the screens on your MAF.

    Yes.

The sensors are designed and calibrated to have the air flow through the screen...

I don't have the screen anymore so do you think this is hindering performance? Will this cause anything to be damaged?

    Probably not.

But just for future reference....leave it in place.

Damage probably not, but the screens change the airflow to a more uniformly flow characteristic which allows the sensors to be calibrated to a tighter tolerance which results in a better tune. Like Mr. Luos said.

if its dyno tuned the screen won't matter the big throttle body may hinder the torque

Are there any ways to increase my torque without changing the cam or losing horsepower numbers?

How much power do you think I would pick up with the mods already done? Lets say with some Trickflow 215's?

With a good tune, a low end estimate would be 20hp and 15 lbs/ft. at the rear wheels.

But it's still a Dodge. Sorry got caught up in your signature. However, it is still a Dodge.
