Why would an a4 bounce off the rev limiter like that unless you were trying to shift it yourself?

Gotcha. Not sure how much I'd track my car with a slipping tranny though

Driver error i would say. Having an A4, if you manual shift you have to shift Earlier than you think because of that. Maybe somethings up but that always worked for me.
Suspension: Lower control arms (Spohn), Drive shaft safety loop, Torque arm (Edlebrock), Strut tower brace, Panhard Bar (BMR)

Under the Hood: Smooth bellows, Lid, Catch can, LT Headers, ORY, AIR/EGR delete, Poly engine/transmission mounts,

Exterior: Painted brake calipers (Red), Halo “Spyder” Headlights w/matching parking/turn signals (Black)

You shouldn't be shifting an auto manually, period. You cannot shift faster than a computer. If you're finding shifting manually in an auto is resulting in faster times, you need a tune and to change/firm up your shift points via tune.

On another note, I can't wait to smoke the shit out of a Shelby GT500.

Very true. My transmission went out on me a couple years back and tgey did some things to it and i also got a tune. It does shift a lot bette after all that but i was always told to shift yourself.

Just for tge sake of arguement, if you cant shift faster than a computer (not sayingthis isnt true) then whats the point in getting a manual car at all? Seems we should all have automatics.

I believe what you are saying. Im just being that guy right now. Lol

Yeah I'm not dumb I know I can't out shift the computer which is why it was in D. The tranny must have been slippin. I had one run which was best run that it didn't slip at all but for some reason the timer didn't clock it. Time to and some muscle in the tranny and put my stall and cam in

No. I've just read on here a million times don't try and shift an auto you can't out shift the computer. So I've never tried it.

There is a reason why 95% of drag cars are stalled auto's.

Manual cars are not meant for the track. They sell manual's simply for the "fun factor" of driving around on the street.

A manual car will always be slower than a stalled auto at the track with the same to similar mods. Even the best driver's in the world lose time by shifting.

The 2011 Shelby's run a 12.4 in the 1/4 so you're going to probably need a stall and cam at minimal to run with one.

I've seen one go 11's with Slicks. It sounded and looked stock but I don't know squat about them

But you also lose more HP through an A4 than you do an M6. Perhaps that will make up the difference if both cars have identical mods?

Correct. You have more drive train loss with an automatic. However, IMO at least, there is ALWAYS the "driver error mod" with manuals. Auto's = punch and go.

Plus the driveshaft / rear axle takes less of a beating because you can pre-load the drivetrain while launching.

Finally allowed to have my car at school. Drove it from Florida to Maryland over the weekend and have been driving around searching for some good roads everyday since. I think I'm going to try to get over the mountains in VA/WV this weekend.
