Never mind...I looked closer and guess what I found...1 small bubble the size of about half the diameter of a head of a thumb tack. SUCK!

The first time i repainted mine unaware of the problem, the bubbles came up rediculously fast because i sanded through the gel coat in a couple places.

The second time we put a very very thin layer of glazing putty over the entire sail panel just to see if we could seal it up. the passenger side was still fully covered with putty (you couldn't see the fiber glas anywhere) after sanding and the other side was patcheir (you could see through to the fiber glass in some places) but we felt like it would suffice and serve it's purpose. It's been painted a couple months now and the passenger side is perfect and the driver's side is startin to bubble.
I'm gonna see how this holds over the next six months or so and then get back to ya'll, but i think a possible solution may be a thin layer of glazing putty over the entire panel. I also gotta investigate it long term tho, over a couple years. But all in all it bubbled much sooner last time.

    Could I get the PDF?

I found a copy online but it was crappy to the point of being almost unreadable.

    Thanks!

ALL F-bodies are outside the warranty period now.

It is covered under the paint/rust-through which is 6 years or 100k miles.

Your '02 expired last year. My '01 waited a bit after its expiration to bubble up on me. The Traitor.

And thanks for the PDF JoshieDoom!

The sheet metal warranty does not cover this repair. It is dealer discretion to give you a "Goodwill" warranty repair or not. My district warranty rep offered to have GM pay for parts and I would be responsible for labor. It's about a $1000 job.

Just said above GM skimped out and didnt include them. A cheap thing to do. The 98s are the red headed stepchild of the 4.2 gen.

I noticed them on my 2001 SS Camaro about 2 months before I put her up for sale...at first I couldn't figure out what the heck it was, or why it started seeing as I took such good care of the car. Come to find out that had nothing to do with it. I did bring it to the new owners attention, and he was okay with it, turned out he was aware of the problem, and was in the body shop biz, and didn't mind replacing the sail when the time came.
