    Water Pump Locked Up!!!

    Today while driving to work my long serpintine (spell??) belt broke off. I drifted my car off the road so it wouldn't over heat. I had my brother bring me a new belt for it. We put it on and it ran but the water pump didn't turn at all. Also for the little bit i ran it my power steering pump was smoking. Has this ever happened to anybody??? It was just all of a sudden too, the pump wasn't making any noises or showed any signs that it was going out.

    '69 Camaro

    The impeller in the water pump on my Ranger broke off and blew the hoses off a month or two ago.

    It has a big wing!

    That hasn't happened to me but,its no biggie to change out the pump...A little pricey at $160,and thats for a parts store model...Here is a link to the swap in case you need it...
