Volant Intake Pictures
Here is some pictures of the Volant Intake for the Pontiac, modified to fit my SS. I liked the two filter set up better from the Pontiac model than the one filter setup for the Camaro. I had to use several different bellows to get it right. Check it out, by the way, those are Air Raid filters, I didnt like the blue from Volant.

I like that setup. If I ever get an 05/6 hood I'm getting that setup.

I have had both the SLP Lid and now the Volant box. If there is a difference, I really cant tell. One thing that is different, you can actually hear the air being sucked thru you ram air scoop with the hood closed at idle with the Volant. I could not hear that with the SLP Lid. I am guessing its because the Volant box seals the intake around the inside of the hood. The only place it can get air from is the hood scoop! It sounds really cool at idle. It will fit your car with no problem. Mine is also a 2000 SS. If you get one, PM me and I will type you out and draw you a diagram of the bellows and tricks I used to get it in. Its really easy and you can use parts from your stock intake to get it fit! I like it because I feel it only uses the colder air from outside my engine bay, instead of sucking up all that hot air from under the hood. What is the point of having a hood scoop if it does not work properly!

Thanks Tom. I have a lot of work to do under there. It really needs to be cleaned up, paint some things, and try to hide some of that wiring. There is just so much going on under there! The guy that is tinting my turn signals, tail lights, and rear bumper lights is taking forever also! I hope to have some new pics up soon. Thanks for all the compliments.

I love your car. Its exactly how mine looked. Down to the color and all. I had the hotchkis/koni setup for susp. and a Moser 9 inch rear with 3.73 gears, POSI.
The red msd coil packs would also look real cool. But its like $600. I can think of better ways to spend that money. Well, keep up the good work bro. its lookin' real good.

Thanks for the help Anthracis and Gullett17. There is no benifit to having the Pontiac CAI over the Camaro. I just liked the look of the double filters better. I ordered the filters from www.airaid.com. The bellow to use is free for most, its the stock accordian bellow. Fits on the Granattelli MAF, goes thru the box sealing up the hole nicely on both sides, and attaches right to the plastic piece that holds the double filters! Any four inch bellow will connect the 92MM TB to the MAF. The is no restriction of air going into the intake what so ever! . You can actually hear the air being sucked thru your hood scoop grate at idle when the hood is closed! How badass is that?
