    Semi-off topic:

How does the Volant CAI stack up to others on the market? I've been considering one as an alternative to K&N and SLP (which apparently have bad reputations).

all the reputable CAI are going to net you AROUND the same gain....it all comes down to looks. and with these cars stay away from the oil filters, they cause problems with the MAF

oil filters as in K&N type filters?
FWIW i've never heard of or experienced any issues regarding the oil type filters. However, I could see how it MAY become an issue if the user drenches the filter with oil after cleaning it.

    Sadly now demodded :(

If you have a cold air hood (SS, Ultra Z or the like) the Volant will work fine.

If no cold air hood you'll starve the engine for air at the top end. Ask me how I know...

And if you want a Volant CAI single made for a Camaro PM me.
    67 Camaro: K-K + 797-z (look it up), 454/Th400/4.10 12-bolt = 6mpg, PS/PDB/PW tilt, tach, gauges...

2005 Corvette LS2/M6 Magnetic Red Metallic (What else would it be?) w/ Cashmere interior

    2002 Z28: NBM/Tan, MTI smooth lid, smooth bellows, !AIR, !cats, 1-3/4" QTP SS LT's, 2-1/2" TD's with X-pipe, MagnaFlows dumped at axle, custom welded SFC's, MidWest Chassis body mount adjustable T/A, 3400 stall, 3.23 gears (was 2.73). Tuned: 343rwhp/357rwt (before TD's). Best: 12.559 @ 108+, 1.73 60' @ 3500' DA w/MT ET Street DR's.

Damn, that sux. I doubt it was caused by the air filter. Though, I have heard stories of filters getting hurrendously filthy from the "ram" air forcing more dirt on and in some cases past the filter.

So are you using a paper filter now?

People use to much oil when they clean the filters, not saying the k&n is the best but never maf issues with mine, or any gunk on it.

I've never thrown a code for it...but if your maf wires are bright silver like they should be..I'm impressed...I've always needed to clean mine every 2-3 months
