    upgrade list??

    I have a 99 Z28 with some minor mods and want to do more but not sure when to do what. Does anyone have a list of mods that can be done in some sort of order? Maybe with some costs involved? This way I can decide what do do with the funds I have available. Any help would be greatly appreciated

    it depends solely on what you want the car to do.
    There is no instruction manual for which mods to perform when. Common sense mixed w/your wallet and desires basically control it.

    By common sense, I mean don't get a honkin' turbo or 300 HP shot of nitrous without making sure your engine can handle it AND your brakes also...

    It's common for people to worry about power, but w/the engine you have you're probably already at or near 300RWHP, so making power isn't a concern. I'm very close to your car here with mine and I'm concentrating on suspension/chassis componants. If the car makes 400 RWHP and spins the tires all day, it isn't any good. Need to put the power to the ground. All depends on your desires, goals, dreams, aspirations, fantasies and wallet.

    Help?

    Currently own 1995 Z28 (Silver-Automatic) - BONE STOCK!!!
    Recently purchased 2001 Z28 (Black-6 Speed) - 3" Flowmasters and
    other misc stuff. This, bad traction (2.21 60') and missed 3-4 shift
    netted me 13.46 sec in the 1/4 mile. . .

    Yes, it does help, but I was hoping that someone had a nice little list of things that can be done in some sort of rational order. I know when I had my 3000GT VR4, THEIR members had a list of upgrades, HP you could get with them, and some cost involved. I was hoping that LS1 members had that hidden somewhere.

    I would suggest suspension (LCAs/Torque arm). If you're car is non-stock ride height, then PHR also. If you're going to the track ALOT, then I would suggest double-adjustable on both LCAs and PHR. If you don't intend to go to the track, non-adjustables should work fine. Alot of people swear by the LCA relocation brackets also.

    Now that you've got better traction, maybe CAI/cam/lid/headers. {see you've got the CAI and lid}

    If you're talking about LOTS of mods, work on replacing the rear end (10-bolt) with either a 9" (FORD - if you're an M6) or a 12 bold (Chevy - if you're an A4).

    Maybe consider clutch/torque converter stall change followed by a pair of slicks for the track (if thats your bag baby!)

    After that, I would guess major engine work is in your future. . .

    thats because there is only way to go with those is turbo since they come turbo. Its like DSMs..they have the same stuff. With ls1s you can go n2o, h/c heads/cam, turbo, or supercharged. Then there is different steps you can go with those liek more radical setups that'll need the motor rebuilt, or something less radical that be used on stock engine. Then it comes to how much money you have and what you want to do.

    I would suggest making a plan of what you want to do because you don't want to waste money. I.E. putting on headers, but say if you go turbo later on, you'd have to take them off and it would be wasted money. So figure out what you want then go from there.

    suspension!!! Tubular K-member, Upper A-arms (to get the weight off the front), spohn adjustable torque arm, spohn adj rear race sway bar (friggin huge!!), and relocate the battery to the trunk. This should give you some really good hook out the whole which is how you get thouse 1/4 times down real fast.
