    Trade Camaro for T/A???

Hello, I have a slight dilemma. I currently have a 1998 Z-28 that I bought the summer before my senior year in high school and absolutely love it. However I only got the Z because I couldn't find a T/A in my area, I've loved LS1 T/A's since I was 11 and they're what got me into GM muscle. There is a 2000 NBM T/A at a local dealership and I want it bad but don't have enough cash to buy it outright, should I trade in my Camaro? The Z is my first car and I don't want to regret trading it, do you guys miss your first Camaros/cars. I dont want to make a mistake, but I want that T/A bad. Just looking for some opinions.

Just keep the camaro. You'll regret trading it in. Payments and all that shit. Trust me if your car is paid off just keep it that way.

if looks of the t/a are that much more appealing to you then get it, just remeber your going to lose more money and not be able to spend as much on performance upgrades. Why do you need our help making this decision? Your the guy who has to live with the car everyday. what time is it in arkansa anyway?

I think about that too. I wish I woulda waited and got a WS6 or a LS1 TA instead. But I look at my camaro and realize its the same shit.

I'd only buy it if you can sell your car for top dollar.

Honestly, being back in the market myself recently...I have to prefer Camaros.

I was a nose hair away from picking up a black T/A with 60k on the ticker for 8 grand last week, but after a random visit to a used car lot because I noticed a few f-bodies around the building while driving by...I saw a 6 banger camaro sitting next to a T/A, and realized...I wouldn't be as happy with a T/A as I would be with another Camaro.

The first car I ever rode in as a baby was my dad's 79 Trans Am. The first car I ever got some nookie in was my first girlfriend, back in 7th grade,'s dad's 97 Trans Am. The car I thought I'd always wanted was a T/A.

But when I finally had the money saved to trade in the beater Honda my mom gave me for my 15th birthday and go muscle car shopping for myself, I couldn't find a reliable bird with a price I could afford. But I remember spotting this red Z28 sitting off by itself at one of the used car lots I was browsing, so I walked over to it..salesman handed me the keys, and for some reason when I started her up...that stock exhaust just sounded better than any bird I ever heard. I drove her around the block...and remember this kid's face in a minivan just staring with his mouth wide open as I passed by. I knew right then I'd found my car.

Signed the papers, and took my baby home. Now when I think about it. Yes, I've got far more history with T/A's than Camaros. But they've always been other people's cars. I've had plenty of friends and family members with Trans Ams, Vettes, Mustangs, T-birds, Falcons, Chargers, and a few ricers...but I can't think of a single person I've ever known with a Camaro. That was my niche, and despite the fact I love the birds, and they may look better...but they dont look better to me, and arent as special to me.

I suppose I'll just hold onto the Z and then buy a T/A when I have the money, 2 F-bodys for the win

Now that is the best idea yet.

I think it should be a written law to never sell your FIRST muscle car. Just buy plenty more after the first one

My first muscle car was (and still is) my 1974 Nova. I plan on NEVER selling it. I'd sell my Camaro before I sold the Nova

I always hear the stores... "I should have never sold that car..." or "I wish I still had it!"

Glad to hear that, I hear older guys saying how they sold their muscle cars for kids and wives etc. So I didn't know if selling it for another muscle car would be as bad. I'll hang onto Enola (yes I named my car) forever, plus it'll be cool 40 years from now when I still have my high schoool parking permit in it.

I dont think that it would be worth it since you would be paying for a car that has the exact same everything as yours now. Except the body.

+1 I even have the stock rims from my 98 ss in the shed you'll regret selling her keep your car, I want a 68 camaro soo bad but I refuse to sell her too.

and don't worry I think we all have names mine just got names alice star I was driving home a few girls and one of them is a waitress, my friend put the name tag on the roof between the tops and was all "your name is offically alice star" and it stuck. the name tag said alice and had a star next to it works for me sounds like a porn star.
