Jetstream Blue Metallic- 2008 Z06 Corvette
LS6 from www.crateenginedepot.com for $3000.00 that puts out 405 real HP just like the Z06 it goes in, all that and a warranty to go with it! Why have a LS1 when you can have a LS6 instead? Throw some LT headers on there, and a F.A.S.T. manifold and MAF, CAI, plus a bigger cam and your looking at the bright side of 500 ponies my friend. I have 500 of the critters in my corral, and they are a lot of fun to ride. It all starts with a point of your mouse to crate engine dot com

where is this motor on their site? I could not find it.
my motor is running pretty strong it has 135,xxx though, but like I said it's running strong.
It's just frusturating not knowing what I want to do to get more power( with staying off the bottle)
so anyone have pros vs. cons?

Okay Gentlemen-
Here's what you have to do...
Go to their site, and use their search box, then enter this part number.
#89017653
A LS6 "service engine" will pop up, and will show the current price, which I think is around $3100 now. This IS a real Z06 motor with the correct heads, and cam, valves, [hollow, and sodium filled] you will need a manifold, (preferably a LS6 or better) water pump etc...
This is not the other LS6 (that you probably found) motor they sell for over 4 grand that includes everything, this is for people that more than likely already have a LS1, and are looking to upgrade or replace. It is a new, not rebuilt motor. Shipping was reasonable too. Ran me $300.00 from Illinois where they are, to Seattle where I am. All this and a warranty to boot!

Yes its auto. ( 700R4 ) I was thinking about going manual but if I would I just spent $700 for no reason on good stall, But if I went manual I woul upgrade to a T-56 and all that.
Here are some other pics of the stuff....

i know i dont need a t-56 but if im doing the work then might as well put somthng better in. and no one will pay the 700 for it , even if its new and in the box b.c if their spending that money why not just get it from the actaul store in stead of some guy over the net?

Nice choice. That intake looks tall, will it clear the hood? Keep the auto for now and in a year or two when you want a change then maybe do a manual. Keisler makes a kit that includes everything you need. Have fun with it.

soon just need to get better from being sick( chest cold has been going around my work) and just no energy to actauly wrench on anything.
For exhaust im planning to redo mine.( i'm not satisfied with it ) so I decided to go and buy some hooker long tube headers which will be from Jet Hot Coating.
Here is one question : should I go with the " extreem sterling" it's all nice and shinney and easy to clean/polish back up and kinda matches the other shinny stuff on the engine
OR
Should I go with one of their black coatings?
Either the color coating or the jet hot 2000 black coating?

I am not into the shiny stuff so I would do black. What exhaust do you have now? Both of my old third gen's had a hooker which I liked. When I got my 4th gen I went with magnaflow.
