well you can do what I did and get a new exhaust system put in and install a cut out. Mine sure turns heads and it IS a V6 but that cut out sure sounds nice. Another thing you can do is dump the exhaust before the rear axle.

Just for shits, if you're(BOWDOWNSS) interested in what it sounds like with no muffler, heres a short video of my car with said modification(stock y with no cats and exhaust cutoff before rear axle).

well that sounded like shit but it was from the inside of the car. Maybe it sounded better outside.

Word... SS hood is a dead giveaway... No question end of story... Must have some dumb people where you live.

And no question here.. Duals dumped before the axle 231/237... No question if mine is a V6 or not period.

    Sadly now demodded :(

My 02 currently has LT's, no cats and true duals with an X-pipe using Magnaflow mufflers all turned out (45* towards the wheels from straight down) before the axle. It sounds mellow at idle and AWSOME at WOT.

This coming from someone who thinks an aftermarket exhaust and a cutout sounds good on a 6 banger.

I agree. This is the best sounding exhaust for an F-body that I have ever heard.

GMMG>SLP for sound, yes. I currently have GMMG on my car, had Borla previously. I preferred the Borla over GMMG. Everyone is going to have a differing opinion of what "sounds" the best.

From a sound standpoint, I liked the Borla better. From an appearance standpoint, the GMMG allowed me to go CME. It was a tradeoff.

agreed, the only thing bad I can say about the borla is the price and that I don't think its loud enough (I solved that problem by getting rid of the borla muffler )

you can scare the hell out of someone not expecting it with either. loudmouth will certainly do the trick for pretty cheap... had that set up on my previous 2 ls1s, absolutely loved it. Have GMMG now w/the berger pkg and it sounds even better and meaner that hell, but you're going to shelling out a lot more $$$ for it as someone else eluded to.

just in terms of sound, the main difference i have noticed is that the gmmg doesn't backfire like the LM used to when you would come off of the gas. also, the LM can sometimes sound more like a cutout than a catback. that really didnt bother me tho.

i just put on the LM1 catback on my Z28 a few weekends back. It sounds NICE and it is LOUD. Definitely lets you know it has a V8. And its cheap. i got mine for $386.96 and installed it in 3-4 hours. But if you get headers forget about it, way too raspy, go with magnaflow in that case, although they are more expensive.
