So i just bought a 2001 ss off an old guy up the road. It has 14000 miles and looks gorgeous not a single scratch on the whole car, but every car show i go to when i roll in , i get asked if its a 6 cylinder i cant take how quiet the stock exhaust is . . . . . . so im asking whats the best way to get great sound but not having to take out a loan haha.... please help

i would rather my car was mistaken for a v6. I was thinking about taking the z28 badges off and throwing RS badges on because i have the body kit to make it look truly like a v6 but the cam lop gives it away.

Could be worse - when I first got my car (pre-conversion), people asked how I liked my G6 (or my Cavalier)...
My 2004 VY/VZ Monaro Conversion (1 of 889...)
The other cars:
1996 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible (3.8 V6/4A)
1994 Saturn SC2 (1.9L I4/4A)
1981 Eldorado Diesel <-- slower, but smokier

I was thinking either the slp catback with 4 inch tips or the gmmg chambered catback

i have the SLP LM1, put it on myself... SOUNDS GREAT IMO
However, as mentioned, i knew prior to purchasing it i couldnt really buy long tube headers with the SLP LM1... i hear it gets obnoxiously loud/raspy
as for how it is right now, i personally like the sound of it and it didnt break the bank... and wasnt bad to install either.. hardest part was detatching the old exhaust @ the Y pipe connector... ended up sawzalling the pipe as it went over the axle and sawzalling the y pipe flange thing...
heres a video that made me get it..

no lm1 is not the most expensive it's just a resonator with tips.

Magnaflow.
Cheaper, good for power, and in my opinion...sounds as good as any system.
