We are talking about a car that gets 20+ mpg. When is enough enough??? I am used to driving cars that get 10-12 mpg so when I jump in the LT1/LS1 it's a shock to drive something that gets this kind of mileage to me.
Don't let the gas prices dictate what you have to drive. We just adjust our way of living so we can enjoy the cars.
Not to mention we have used 94 octane in everything for the last 20+ years so we have been used to paying over $3 a gallon for gas long before low grade regular ever saw $3 so it's not that big of a hit to us.

Cut out the beer and cigs, stop eating out so much etc....you're only talking 30-40 cents a gallon over last year,,,,not that hard to compensate for, thats only $3-$4 per fillup. Drop one cheeseburger a week and your there and you'll stay healthier too,,,so you accomplish 2 things,,,lol.

I could only wish my DD got as good a mileage as my T/A

    Good luck with the Hybrid....

You guys and your bitching about paying high prices. Try what worlk out to about 4.39/gal. Or about 1.16 per liter. For regular. with premiem usually about 20 to 30 cents more.

I feel for ya up there. In comparison $3.45 for the 87 here doesn't sound like alot.
30 + Gal. per week of even just that is enough to keep me bitching though.

Keep the Z and change your driving habits. A hybrid camry ain't gonna get you a whole lot better mileage.....ooooo you might get 34 mpg highway. big deal. the return on your investment on the hybrid and the amount of money you will save from fuel ain't so great. better off putting the money you'll waste on a hybrid POS into the gas tank of the Z.

gas costs me $3.73 a gallon. I fill it up every two weeks, and it's my daily driver. $50 every two weeks is worth it.

Srsly, Cali gas prices are the highest I can remember. Inflation is rearing its ugly head and unfortunately it's manifesting itself in two areas that are important to me: food and gas.

camry hybrids are terrible. they dont even get that good of mileage. if I was gonna go toyota I would get a carolla. at least those are cheap and get good mileage. camry's are way overpriced especially the hybrids.

I'm afraid you have jumped the gun my friend, GM is months away from anouncing the price/street date of an extended mileage electric vehicle called the VOLT...and I think it looks more like a camaro than the camaro! -okay, thats a bit of a stretch, but seriously, those of us old enough to remember the EV1 & EV2 know that General Motors can make an electric vehicle thats extremely street worthy. Hybrids are garbage, they never get the mileage that is claimed, theyre ridiculously underpowered and actually emitt a polutant that is way worse than CO2 (I think its mercury).
The only use for a gas/electric vehicle is a truck (so you can still tow shit and get good mileage when towing).
I hope you have not yet wasted your $$$.
BTW-my DD is an 05 Malibu Maxx, & it gets around 24 in the city, upwards of 30 on the highway...you should stay with the General and avoid the false promises of that other company.

I would buy that. I drive 26 round trip each day. Add lunch and errands and it is still under 40.

I can't believe that the original poster did that..... I think he was just trying to stir us up.

My daily driver is a 2003 Impala LS Sport, and I get 24mpg average. I wouldn't even trade that for a camry hybred; that's a woman's car.

Is it april fools day already? who would make such a crazy swap? The only possible green option I would even consider would be a Tesla. The electric-powered road rocket that can travel from 0-60 in four seconds and 1/4 mile in 12.2. Now I just gotta hit the lottery to afford one.

I don't care how much you can save on gas, each and every time I park my Camaro...I walk away...I can't get more than 15 feet before I have to turn around and take that last look. We all do it. Now tell me he's going to do that with his Camry!
    Gas saved with Camry; $18.23
Knowing you have one fine ass car; Priceless
Number of middle aged men who drive Camry's wishing they didn't; Countless
Number of beautiful women who admire your car; 2 lol

Don't think you're crazy. If you don't do it, then there is something wrong.
