    2008 Corvette Z06

    Thinking out loud...

Seriously considering selling the ole Z28 for a new Corvette....

Not sure what I want yet, if I'd get a base model, or if I'd get a Grand Sport. Obviously it's gonna cost a ton of money vs. my Camaro being completely paid off. But it's a lot more, and a lot nicer vehicle.

I know some of you think this is a no brainer, but it's a huge step as far as price goes.

It's a huge chunk of cash that's for sure, and I'm not too fond of payments, no matter what they are.

Sell the Z and save for awhile. That way you finance less and can pay it off more quickly.

Put what you'd be putting on payments for the Vette in a seperate bank account every month instead of on the vette. In a few years when you would have just paid off the vette pull the money out of the account and splurge on the camaro

Or just get the vette, it's up to you

I'd like to think I'm an outside the box thinker, LOL.

Just making sure you weren't renting with all of the options around here. Hopefully the housing market wont be this bad/good for much longer.

I'd suggest getting the car before a wife and kids LOL.

You mean... get the car before getting a second wife! The first one didn't last too long.

They are fun till you have a wife and kids, then they become somewhat useless and end up going by-by. The vette that is Fun if you're single though.

If you can manage to hang on to it, it might be worthwhile. It would really suck getting another new car only to sell 4-5 years later and take a big hit on the market. That part is depressing.

I'm with your dad, pay off the house first, Or set your sights a little lower and look for an 03-04 Z06. I've seen a few low mile examples fairly reasonable. They've already taken the market hit (new car depreciation) and they are hella fun to drive. I've been eye balling a couple myself. It's either that or get another classic vette. Our kids are older and we've reached middle age though so I'm on the other end of the stick
