you would have to start with a convertable.
a T-Top car/or one with a solid roof uses the bar in the roof for strength in place of a full frame/unibody

Ive seen a camaro with a targa hatch cover, it looked like a big Del Sol, but it also had some ugly ass hood and sparkly pastel blue paint.

With a taga top you loose alot more frame support, i have owned a Trans am and Supra at the same time, you could tell a huge difference in body movement when the top was off the supra.

The pics King posted are of a guy's car from NC, it's a six cylinder, so the torque will effect him less. He had a hard top, and used the skin of the hardtop along with the frames of two busted t-tops to make the top, it looks amazing in person, especially for someone who did it themself, for the first time! If I was going to do it though, I'd want a piece of lexan or safety-glass as the roof.
I know that the 4th gens were designed and built as convertibles first, so I would imagine that there's much less structural support coming from the top than one would imagine. I'd think that a good set of SFCs would do the trick. She's baaaaaccccck...
