Here's my 2 cents...Who cares about how much wind gets in the car with the top down? Are you really concerned about your hairdo? Convertables are the way to go. They look great and on a nice day, there is no substitute for them. Now comes the "Verts aren't as stiff or stable as a hardtop. That is true, and also easily fixed with some SFC's welded in. Mine did the trick. I think people who say Verts aren't as good as T Tops are crazy or couldn't find one when they bought their F Body, or couldn't afford one. And honestly, with a little looking, you can find them cheaper...I paid $15K for mine 3 years ago. I have been caught in the rain on several occasions. I live in Florida and rain storms come in fast. I simply pull over and raise the top. I have even done it in stop and go traffic on the interstate. My point is, it is easier to press a button and have a roof than running to your trunk. Convertables Rock!

What lowering kit do u have on it?
Thanks for the props there Erik. The springs I have on there are the SLP Eibach's with Bilstein shocks. Gives it a nice stance but wish the front was a tiny bit lower. Rides great thou.

Those last two verts were f*ckin sweet. BUT, i'd still rather have the t-tops. my third gen was a hard top, but i wanted t tops, when i upgraded to the 98 Z, i went with ttops. Also, i don't think that SS's were made with bodykits. those are more seen on the RS and some Z's.

Well having both I can honestly say I like em both for different reasons. I can say it's kinda scary doing 145 with the top down. Won't do that again until my rollbar is installed.

For some reason the tennau cover and the bar reminds me of a saleen mustang. i'd do the t-tops. But if i had no choice and got a covertiable i'd do the cover w/o the bar. good luck

imo the t-tops look better on and off then the convertible on and off. the vert off looks too straight and with it on it looks weak. but i think you'll be happy either way if it is that big of a deal. you seem to like both. oh and by the way... the wind hits the window and goes over the car and barely touches the spoiler so whoever said that wind traps itself in the rear is wrong. if it did then you would heard it and i don't. roll the windows down in a tahoe or something and it sound like a helicopter until you open the rear second seat window for the air to leave.

Brother, if your car weights 4346lbs. then you need to check yourself into a fat clinic.

I've got T-tops with mine, but I only looked at one car when I was buying.

The convertible looks very nice with the top down, but up it looks......well.....sort of...... cheap. Kinda like it's meant to be down all the time. That's just personal preference though. I'm happy for the vert owners too.

The Finer & Sweeter Things in Life !!!!

Purdy Z there, hope you keep it for a long time & keep sun'n & cruise'n till the rain comes..

I also have the Navy Blue Z28 with ZO-6 wheels, but mines an 2002 with Tan top & Leather..

I respect the folks who want a Hardtop for PonyKillers & T-Tops cause they can't justify the extra cost of a Vert... We can all still Cruise together & enjoy one of the finer autos ever built !!!

I've never put my Vert Boot on yet.. Will hafta git 'er out & see how it looks !!!!

Just enjoy it every chance ya git !!
