I drove back to where it flew off. It was still sitting in the middle of the road. I couldn't believe it.

I pulled over and waited for traffic. Then it happened...

The last car in the pack ran it over. AHHHH!!!!!
That sucks, how much was the new one?

i had pretty much the exact same thing happen to me when i first got my license. . . had the tops out, went to wash my car and just totally spaced latchin em because i was probably gonna take right back out. My windows where completely rolled up and had the ac on then . . . ssshhhuuuu (sound of ttop bein sucked off the car lol). . looked in the review at my ttop hittin the ground and gravel flyin up (pretty sure mine didnt hit the actually road, but only the gravel shoulder). I thought for sure it would have been busted, but it had about the same slight scratching as yours . . . definately lucky

Why were you trying to watch a movie while driving your car? I guess I just don't understand, I'd rather watch a movie at home. Video size/quality way better. Glad to hear the T-top is intact!

Reminds me of a friend that bought a brand new 84 Z28 305 HO with T-tops.
I was in the back seat and a buddy riding shotgun. Going about 60 and he reaches up and says,,,,,"Hey whats this lever for" As he pulls it

It immediately went WHOOOOSH! and flew up in the air about 40 feet. It was like slow motion as I watched it out the back window.

The first time it hit the ground it just bounced up into the air in one piece. We all had a sigh of relief thinking we could retrieve it. NOPE.
The second hit shattered it into a million pieces

Ouch! I'm sorry to hear that happened to you. I've heard many stories of them flying off and I always make sure mine are latched and locked. I guess it also helps that I rarely drive on the highway too.

Same thing happened to me. I washed the car, so I slapped the t-tops back on really quick. Next day I went for a nice Sunday cruise.... Was a really, really windy day. Doing about 55 mph, and WHOOSH. I ALMOST got to the handle before it took flight. It took me over 2 hours top find it.

It was laying in a big pile of nice soft hay in some dudes farm. It 'skipped' across a electric fence post putting a scratch about 8 inch long on it and then landed safely in the farmers hay. Actually the 12 yr old farm boy found it for me!

Wow. That is lucky. Kinda on the same subject, but we were on our way fishing pulling the boat when the guy's bed liner in front of us flew out and barely missed us. I think the wind took it right over our heads and it landed about 20 feet after the boat. WTF...

I just thought of a good use for the in car video: Let the girlfriend/wife watch some porn to get her in the mood, maybe you could skip some foreplay and get to the real action when you get home!
