ss rear spoiler
does anyone on here have or seen the rk sport ss style spoiler. i want to get one for my z but was wondering how it compares to the oem spoiler, does it look the same or is their subtle differnces. also the quality how is it the fit and finish. i tried a ss hood from tru fiber and didnt like it. it looked similar to the oem but you could tell it was different, so i returned it and found an oem. was just wondering if this was gonna be the same case. any feedback greatly appreciated

While it looks great it will not be a OEM fit. If your building to look like an SS. Why not sell your Z and buy a SS. It will be cheaper in the long run.

the only thing i would ever copy off an SS is the spoiler it just sets off the look of the car......i went with an oem spoiler just so i could guarantee fitment and finish

I bought a ss style spoiler for my 97 z from rk, my car already had the hood, i was not impressed with it at all, it didn't fit real well and one corner was weakened from shipping, sent it back and bought an oem from slp, they were on sale for 139 at the time. The 98 and up is a little different, in the brake light area.

The original OEM spoilers were of a 2 piece design. None of the aftermarket spoilers replicate that.
So that's the first drawback. Not to mention I haven't seen an aftermarket SS spoiler fit exactly correct yet.

I can already see from that pic,,,the corners are not as sharp as the originals,,,and has a hard time blending with the body lines.
From a distance they are okay.

i would want 100% qulity for the hood but 1grand for a fucking hood is crazy. and ive never even seen a spoiler that cheap but would any bodywork be required to install it or would i be able to just slap it on?

I would personally go buy a used SS spoiler if you like the look. If you have the eye for it you can tell a reproduction easy. I personally like a stockish look so i went with a used SS spoiler.
