Well I spent the day and didn't see any 02 auto convertable down there at all. There was however a 99 SS 30th aniv. pace car convertable with an automatic there that was getting ready to go accross the block last night I believe. It was the only 4th gen on the property that I spotted all day.
There was also 1 06 GTO parked next to it, and I saw that go for something like $60K because it was some kind of one off twin turbo thing.
Other than that just alot of good ole iron going for alot of money. There were however what I thought were some very good deals going down, some cars were bought pretty well.

I think you are right. GM has a ton of one off stuff down there, prototypes etc...they are selling off. I think the count is something like 230 cars that GM is auctioning off. They had a huge GM tent down there too advertising the new camaro.
Had 3-4 of them inside to look at, an LS7 version, the SS and the RS. They don't do it for me but oh well. I just couldn't believe all the GM prototypes and such they are getting rid of. Guess that bail out money hasn't come through yet

Ya I saw that one in person. To tell you the truth I didn't give it much attention, just thought it was another new goat with some body accents. Nothing outside really cued it off to me. It sure did grab some money though.
There was one guy in particular that was snatching up most of GM's prototypes and stuff. They will most likely wind up in a museum since none of them even had a serial number and were sold on a salvage title, nearly impossible to tag in most states.
I think that Goat was the only serial numbered car from GM at this point.Last edited by Firebirdjones; 01-16-2009 at 09:30 AM.

Add your 10% buyer premium to that and it shows just what some people are willing to pay for a 4th gen.
Although I spent all day there, I never got to see the 2002 camaro. I did however see the 99 camaro pace car convertable in person. It was about as nice as you could expect I guess.
It went for $29,700.
I did see the 2002 Trans Am while I was there. I didn't look at it that close though.
What I find most interesting is that these cars are actually starting to show up at the biggest car auction in the world.
Makes you wonder what will be in store in just another 10 years.Last edited by Firebirdjones; 01-17-2009 at 08:34 AM.
