    True..........but GM stuck the Z on a few other cars. Remember the Z24 and Z26?

    IMHO I just love the car, rebuilt the motor and due to a mistake ended up blowing it up, replaced it and I've put a lot of work into it so I like it more than an SS due to the wrech time, but I love the SS look so I decided to clone mine and not half ass it, real GM stuff.

    I have the SLP ZR1 wheels coming soon for it.

    My Z24 was a V6.

    It might hold true for the Z28 as it was the first. I wouldnt doubt that at all.

    Ya, it's the Z=performance part where GM really strayed from it's original roots. I think that's the point everyone is trying to get accross.

    I think the original poster is doing a fine job cloning the SS, and I personally don't have a problem with it.

    Alot of classic muscle cars now are cloned for alot of reasons, unavailability, or people want to drive and enjoy them without the fear of destroying a real one, and alot of the cars in FAST and Pure Stock are cloned as well for obvious reasons. Alot of good reasons to do it. Shucks even the cloned muscle cars (that are cloned correctly) bring pretty good money in the muscle car market.

    Where the problem lies is when a seller or owner tries to pass it off as a real one. Otherwise it's all good as far as I'm concerned.

    I like the OPs car.

    He gets a lot of respect from me. A lot of people who have an SS dont really know what sets it apart. This guy has done his homework and has had his hands on the parts to make it an SS (clone I know). Kudos to the OP. Sharp car and as long as you dont say its a real SS and note that you made it that way you will get nothing but praise from me. I like it.

    Later for 93 that was changed to mean the car had the quad 2.4l 4cyl.

    The Z34 is a different beast too.. In the first gens, Z= performance, and the 34 = the engine designation of 3.4l..

    not a j-body guy.. But the 2.8 z24 was the first to recieve the multiport injection and the first of the high feature 660's..
