I bought my car in January of '06 for $12,000 with 45,000 miles on it. quite the deal at the time. And it was owned by a woman who just drove it to work and back. It was completely stock except for a K&N air filter. two people had looked at it before me but passed it up due to being a auto. It was originally at $14,500, and my dad talked it down. Couldn't pass it up. I wanted a NBM Z28 M6 with T-tops, but couldn't pass up a red SS hardtop at such a price.

I could care less....M6 or A4. Either can perform GREAT.
    A4 needs a stall.
M6 needs more. A good driver, a REALLY sticky tire, and a really good driver.
ah, o.k., got you. and yes, typical religious thread. no final answer just endless statements of personal taste.

Don't forget a rearend, a better clutch, and a better hydraulic system And if you're serious, better internals too.

There is alot of truth to this. I've mentioned it on here before. It's very tough to find a nice 6speed car that hasn't been abused, modified, hacked on, broken and repaired etc....

The autos tend to lead an easier life for the most part. I see many more nice auto cars to choose from with low miles, and generally they are owned by elderly folks which is a plus. Kids and manual transmissions for the most part are not a good mix when looking for used cars.

better believe it..what point does the m6 serve once the a6 is there...you get just as many gears.,..so downshifting will be crisp and in the powerband...no dead spots..faster shifts ..and throw a stall on it...it would shove that shifter so far up your ass you'd taste it.

5th and 6th gears are BOTH overdrives with the M6.

Which is the very reason I chose M6. Can't pass up double overdrive when you drive over 100 miles a day.

Ill be honest though, i suck at driving stick, unless its something with a lot of power, I dont know why. I would love to drive a manual, but i kind of like being a lazy driver.

It figures that most of the "I have to have a stick car" crowd are close to or are HS kids....
