To smoke or not to smoke ???
I am getting some VHT Niteshade tint and doing my turn signals and side makers. Question is should I smoke the tail lights or is that way to much black on a black car.

2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
If you have black interior then you'll have a quadruple black car (vs triple black).

If you're asking if more black is better....than I'm the wrong guy to ask! Just look at my ride, and I think you'll know my opinion on this subject!

the spray on black nightshade stuff looks good but usually starts to look shitty after a while, i guess the weather and the elements and stuff mess with it, atleast what i've seen after people do it.

My only request is that you order some clear corners and smoke those... the amber lenses will be too dark. Do clear lenses and amber bulbs in them and then smoke the lenses

Either way will look good so I can not pick one or the other.
Just don't get black wheels or the cops will thank you are runing shine or drugs lol.
But then again an all blacked out car is easier to hide form the law at night after a good chase!!!

BRIGHT RALLY RED- 2002 CAMARO Z28RS
Smoked Tail Lights
13 October 2007
I've been thoroughly delighted with my smoked tail lights. I think they compliment my black tail panel really well, but beauty is always in the eye of the beholder.
I tinted my tail lights with VHT Nightshades and then burried those coats under multiple layers of clear for protection. The red and amber lights shine through very nicely; I'd estimate that that light output has only been decreased by approximately 7%. However, while my reverse lights are just as visible to other drivers, the VHT has greatly decreased their effectiveness to the point where they really don't provide enough illumination to help me see at all when I'm backing up at night. I've got high-output reverse light bulbs, so that's saying a lot.
If you'd like, you can check out examples of my tinted tail lights at my Car Domain website. Here's the link: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2897451Last edited by jason_a_marzewski; 10-13-2007 at 03:42 PM.
