SLP center mount exhaust?

This is a discussion on SLP center mount exhaust? within the Camaro / SS forums, part of the Vehicle Specific category; How'd you prove me wrong? You said "SLP OEM kit" which means the valence also right? Is the tips alone ...

Actually the aftermarket valances that are made now are not EXACTLY like the original equipment SLP's.
I have an original CME SLP car and have parked it next to another CME car that had this aftermarket valance,,,and side by side you can tell they aren't exactly the same.
It appears to me the aftermarket valance has a sharper edge accross the top portion where the SLP version is much more contour and makes a smoother transition into the bumper. Once side by side you can spot the aftermarket ones easily. To a not so trained eye the subtle differences wouldn't be noticed. And honestly I wouldn't have caught it if the guy hadn't parked right next to me.

Quik is right as far as the aftermarket CME parts aren't exact quality as the originals but either setup works as intended and still looks great on the car though. I wouldn't quabble about either one.

I don't know how 6liter goes about making his or how they compare to the OEM SLP version. I have the OEM SLP version if you want to see pictures. Mine is mounted by screws in 3 points and then I used the 3M double sided stuff. It holds in place pretty well, but if I ever need some painting done, I plan to mold the valence into the bumper, its a cleaner finish that way.

Yeah, I saw a couple of blended ones. They look good too, but I heard its a lot of $. I saw a lot of pics of yours and it really made me want to do CME hence the valence I have now.

What exhaust and tips are you planning to use once you get the valence on?

would either of you ,or both, attempt to describe the exhaust tone of the gmmg? medium, loud, medium loud, deep, exotic, etc. whatever you can think of. i put the gibson cat back on mine and i am not dissatisfied, but ive been curious about this one. sound clips all sound like crap to me.

Its pretty tame in low RPMs, but gets very loud above 2500 RPMs. Its not as crappy/raspy sounding as the Loudmouth with long tubes and no cats. It has a nice tone to it. Check out ls1sounds.com for an idea of what GMMG sounds like.
