    sitting passenger at dragstrip

If you are going to sit passenger in a car with someone, doesn't the inspector who writes the expected time and the car number have to draw a 2 with a circle around it saying that there is a passenger allowed? Because I got kicked out of the car last time because i "didn't sign all the papers i was supposed to" when i really did. And the inspector didn't draw the 2 with the circle. Please help. I'm going tomorrow and really need to know. Thanks.

Yes you need to make sure they do that before you leave the check lane. Otherwise like you said, you get booted out and lose the money you payed to race. My buddy had that happen over at Atlanta Dragway a few months ago.

Passenger? Why not just swap helmets and share driving duties?

Which track in AZ did you go to?? It's hard to say. I've been to quite a few tracks back East and only at Speedworld out here in AZ, and they all seem to be a bit different on the passenger rules.

They were all NHRA sanctioned, yet some wouldn't allow passengers at all, while another would allow it if your car was no quicker than 14 seconds.
Seems the passenger rule has never been consistent for me. Not even sure what Speedworlds rules would be on the subject.

Both SpeedWorld and Firebird adhere to NHRA rules. Passengers are only allowed if you're slower than 14.

Like anywhere else though, sometimes they do and sometimes they don't.

Hmm, sounds like the same thing here then. Guess it depends on the mood they are in.

why would you want to be a passenger. wouldnt it slow the car . i thought every 100 pounds = 1/10th. its like sitting in the same room when your buddy is banging a girl. it just doesnt seem right

Ya it would slow ya down, but some of us don't go there to just run as fast as possible. We go to have a good time.

I have just as much fun racing my 14 second car as I do my 11 second car.
